Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Sep 17: The Bengaluru police on Tuesday rescued a teenager who was kidnapped in August by a gang for ransom.

The police spread a net to capture the gang and managed to nab one of its members when they came to collect Rs 3 crore ransom from a designated spot on Kanakapura road.

When the police tried to catch the abductor, he attacked a sub-inspector with a dagger. In retaliation, the police shot him on his arm and captured him. His two accomplices managed to escape, but the cops got their details from the gang member they arrested. When the police went to arrest the duo near Janapriya Township, they attacked the police with sharp-edged weapons. Again, the cops had to open fire and the duo was arrested.

The boy is son of a businessman and pursuing his second PU. On August 26, when he was returning home in his car along with driver Keshav Reddy, he was kidnapped along with his driver.

The kidnappers started harassing the family for a ransom of Rs 3 crore. The family agreed to pay and the police managed to nab all three kidnappers.

The police are probing to find if other people are involved and also ascertaining if the driver Keshav Reddy has any role to play in the crime.
