Mangaluru: Insult to deity during procession – Man apologises

Mangaluru, Sep 7: There was widespread outrage after a person dressed up like a ‘godman’ and reportedly insulted a deity through his actions during the Ganeshotava procession at Udupi Mundkur on Friday, September 6.

The video, which went viral on social media, led to a controversy.

Hindu organisations, who were miffed with the actions of the person in the video, criticised the act of insulting the deity during the procession. Members of Hindu Jagarana Vedike and Sri Rama Sene condemned the incident. 

The person, who had dressed himself as the godman, apologised publicly for mocking the worship of god in the pretext of entertainment. The video of the apology also went viral in social media.
