Mahatma Gandhi statue to be unveiled by Indian Ambassador in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, Aug 13: The Indian Embassy on Thursday, as part of the 73rd Indian Independence Day celebrations, will unveil a new statue of Mahatma Gandhi here in Abu Dhabi.

As per Gulf news report, Navdeep Singh Suri, Indian ambassador to the UAE will unveil the statue of India’s ‘Father of the Nation’, which has been commissioned to mark the 150th anniversary of his birth. Prior to unveiling the statue, the Indian ambassador will hoist the national flag at 8 am.

The Indian consulate in Dubai, will begin the celebrations at 8 am and consul general of India, Vipul will hoist the National flag at 8.30 am. Both the diplomats after flag hoisting will read out excerpts from the president’s address to the nation which will be followed by cultural performances.
