Tremors at 3.5 magnitude recorded in Palghar

Mumbai, Jul 21: On Saturday around 9.17 am in Palghar district, tremors at a magnitude of 3.5 on Richter scale were reported. Fortunately, there was no destruction caused.

As per reports, there was neither a casualty nor damage to any properties. Further, it was observed that this was not the first time, tremors have been occurring for quite some time now. Since November 2018, over 60 mild tremors have been recorded.

A total of five seismographs installed by Regional Meteorological Department, Colaba, record the tremors. Whereas, the quakes are monitored by IIT-B, National Centre for Seismology, New Delhi and National Geophysical Research Institute Hyderabad.
