Moodbidri: Severed power line takes away a life

Moodbidri, Jun 16: After a live wire got severed and fall on Narayana Naik (45), a resident of Kambalagudde here on the evening of Saturday June 15, he was instantly electrocuted. Naik was an agricultural labourer.

Naik had been hired to work in the paddy field of a local named Mohanraj Adyantaya. He was returning home after work on Saturday when the power line fell on him. It i said that the cables here have got rusted to a stretch of 100 metres. Wire pieces can be seen dangling from here.

At the mass contact meeting organised by Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd here on Thursday, the people had urged the company to erect new poles and replace power cables in this area.
