Kasargod: Youth Congress activists’ murder – Chargesheet submitted to court

Kasargod, May 21: Crime branch investigating the murder case of youth Congress activists Kripesh and Sharatlal has submitted charge sheet to the court. The charge sheet states that personal revenge by Pitambaran and not political enmity as the reason for murders.

CPM Periya zone committee member Pitambarn and his friend Saji G George are the primary suspects.

The charge sheet after 92 days of the incident is submitted in the court of Hosadurga judicial magistrate. Fourteen suspects are identified. It is stated that eight people including Pitambaran and Saji are directly involved while the remaining suspects had hacked the conspiracy and helped the suspects to flee.

As many as 229 witnesses, 105 items and 50 documents are submitted to the court. While eight suspects including Pitambaran are remanded to judicial custody, three suspects including CPM Uduma zonal secretary K Manikantan and Uduma local secretary N Balakrishnan are released on bail.
