Bengaluru: Deve Gowda complains about Siddaramaiah to Rahul, Sonia

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 16: Rumours making the rounds in political circles claim that JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister, H D Deve Gowda, has shot off a curt letter to All India Congress Committee president, Rahul Gandhi, and UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi. The letter is mainly said to contain a list of complaints and objections against the conduct of former chief minister and chairman of coalition government's coordination committee, Siddaramaiah, during the recently held Lok Sabha election. The letter reportedly runs into 18 pages, it is said.

The main complaint of Deve Gowda is that neither Siddaramaiah nor his supporters and community expressed support for the candidates fielded by the coalition partner in the Lok Sabha election, which the two parties had fought unitedly. He expressed the apprehension that this might adversely impact the election result.

Siddaramaiah has been trying to destabilise the coalition government in Karnataka. He has also been trying to bring Congress party under his control. Unless the party high command reins him in, smooth continuance of the coalition government would be very difficult, the letter states. It also draws the attention of leaders about the problems created by statements issued by Siddaramaiah and his supporters before and during the election, their affects, stubborn stance taken by Siddaramaiah during seat sharing process, etc.

JD(S) leaders however have claimed that Gowda has not written any such letter and that this is nothing but a figment of imagination. "Deve Gowda is taking rest now. He will soon be leaving for New Delhi to bring together regional parties at the national level," they claimed.

In the meanwhile, there is a possibility of Deve Gowda convening a meeting of party legislators on May 22 to discuss about future plans just before the declaration of the Lok Sabha election. He also has decided to hold another meeting on May 24, sources added.

Congress and JDS is in the last leg of complaints and counter complaints. Both parties will part ways on the 23rd. This is what Mr. Siddu and Mr. Kumara is waiting for to blame each other for the losses in the general elections.
