Siddaramaiah sticks to his stand of not contesting elections again

Daijiworld Media Network

Bengaluru, May 14: Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah has put speculations to rest by stating he is sticking to his previous stand by not contesting the next assembly elections.

Siddaramaiah’s statement that he will become CM if people bless him next time had created a buzz in the political circles.

“What is wrong to react to people’s requests? When they said I should become a CM in a public meeting, I just reacted to the situation,” he clarified.

He further said that he cannot lock people’s mouth when they express their views. “Some Congress leaders say that I will be CM if people support Congress in the 2023 assembly polls. No one said that should be the CM right now,” he told reporters.

He further took a dig at Yeddyurappa who claims that he will become CM again. “He had a chance but failed to prove the majority. He will end up being a laughing stock if he keeps repeating the statement,” he said.

With regard to H Vishwanath’s statements, Siddaramaiah said he will follow the ‘coalition dharma’ and take up the issue in the coordination committee meeting and refused to discuss it publicly.

Siddaramaiah is currently the coalition government coordination committee chairman. Vishwanath had taken a dig at Siddaramaiah that the administration during his tenure as CM was ‘nothing special'.

Actually Siddu is extremely arrogant & scheming. Last year too, he spoke same words, but stood for two seats in assembly polls. Currently he's falling at feet at DG & Kummy to survive, but given an opportunity, he will bite them back

Do not believe any statements made by any politician. Early occasions many have given same type of statements but never kept the promise. It seems they do not want to retire gracefully from politics. Many have lost their respect from public due to their wrong statements and deeds.

Sensible statement by Siddaramaiah to clarify his stand on CM and coalition principles.
Peoples representatives, who have taken up the oath to serve people, can't afford to have ego.
Persons who REJECTS PRIDE, can only have better control over their minds and tongues!
Pride-less doesn't mean lack of self respect!

We know that he has no chance even by hook or crook. So this is a graceful exit to contest LS elections with a desparate hope of becoming Prime Minister after infinite years.
