Mangaluru: Jerry and Jerry Nite enthralls audience by unique presentation

Mangaluru, Apr 22: The first ever Jerry and Jerry Nite, presented by Joyful Beats, Mangaluru at St Agnes Special School Grounds, which brought Konkani music lovers together for a cause on the evening of Easter Sunday April 21, was a grand success.

Music composer and singer Jerald Oswald D’Souza, popularly known as Jerry Bajjodi along with singer and composer Jerald D’Souza, popularly known as Jerry Bondel, were the leading stars of the musical nite, which was exclusively organized for providing financial help to Josna and Joyslin, differently-abled children, residing at Bondel.

Msgr Maxim Noronha, Vicar General, Mangaluru Diocese was the chief guest of the event.



Fr Richard Lasrado, Konkan Kalashree Claud D’Souza, Luvi Pinto, president, Mandd Sobhann, Mary Shaila Lopez, Lily D'Souza, mother of Jerry Bondel were present on the dais.

Appreciating the efforts of the organizers for a noble cause, Msgr Maxim Noronha said "Instead of hating darkness, light a small lamp. Even if the lamp is unable to light the whole world, it will at least light your surroundings. This is what Jerry Bondel and Jerry Bajjodi and their team has done today. They have given support to our two differently-abled sisters and brought about this melodious musical nite. On this occasion, I would like to wish Jerry and Jerry and all the artistes, singers, event heads, beneficiaries and all of you well and good health and pray that let today's night be filled with fun."

A devotional album titled 'Somi Vatt Sargachi', penned by Jerry Bondel and produced by Mary Shiela Lopez was released by Msgr Maxim on the occasion. Music for the album is composed by Patson Pereira

'Ranipur Friends Saudi' handed over their contribution to Josna and Joyslin Veigas. The office bearers of Joyful Beats also handed over a cheque of Rs one lac to the children.

After the short stage programme, Jerry and Jerry began their musical nite with a duet song.

Along with Jerry and Jerry, Konkani’s well-known singers Vijay Vas, William Padhrengi, Leslie D’Cruz, Viran Veigas, Tara Rum Pum fame Leo Ranipura, Melwin Permannur, Lional Veigas, Wilma Pereira, Jeslita D'Souza, Shalet Castelino, Konkani’s promising voices Wilston D'Souza, Daisy D'Souza, Dealle D’Souza, Joyston D'Souza and Lawrence D'Souza enthralled the audience by their melodious and classic voices.

Well-known poet and TV anchor Alwyn Danthy Pernal and movie and serial actor Floyd D'Mello Cascia compered the event. 

Talented musicians Vijay Noronha, Rajesh, Rajendra, and Roshan Bela played musical instruments. Team 'Bindas Pernal’ created laughter-riot with their skits and timely jokes. Nishan and team mesmerized the gathering by their innovative and adventurous dance steps.

Praveen D'Souza, Alister, Sunil Permannur and Jerald Towers were the coordinators of the musical nite and got huge appreciation for their planning and arrangements.
