Yadagiri, Mar 23: Equating Congress Parliamentary president Mallikarjun Kharge to an ‘old mountain’, former Congress MLA Umesh Jadhav who is now contesting in Kalaburagi Lok Sabha constituency said Congress will be destroyed because of him.

Umesh was speaking at the press conference in the city BJP office. “KPCC working president Eshwar Khandre had called Mallikarjun Kharge as a ‘mountain’. Jadhav, taking a dig at the statement given by the Congress leader, said Mallikarjun Kharge is an ‘old mountain’. It will fall by itself. Congress is going to get destroyed because of the mountain called Kharge,” he said.

“The coalition government of Congress and JD(S) is going to collapse after the Lok Sabha elections. B S Yeddyurappa will become the chief minister of the state again. This is 100% true. Congress supporters will ensure my victory. I have visited various temples of Gurumitakal taluk of the district on the occasion of the finalisation of my BJP ticket. I have made the darshan of the God asking to do me and Modi good,” he said.

“I am getting support from all corners of the constituency. Certain individuals have simply created confusion with regard to my resignation. There is no legal issue. The speaker is verifying my resignation in a special manner. The speaker has written a letter to me. Speaker Ramesh Kumar is not a puppet of anyone. He has called me for inquiry on March 24 and within March 25, my resignation will be accepted," he said.

“There is a suffocating environment in Congress right now. So the Congress leaders are leaving the party and joining BJP. The people of Chincholi constituency wanted me to become a minister. The people of the constituency are not happy as I did not get minister position in the alliance government,” he added.
