Mangaluru: Parish feast of Infant Jesus Church Pavoor Uliya held

Media Release

Mangaluru, Feb 11: The recently declared quasi-parish dedicated to Infant Jesus of Mangaluru diocese celebrated its first parish annual feast on Sunday, January 10 with pomp and gaiety.

Msgr Maxim Noronha, vicar general of Mangaluru diocese, was the main celebrant with other 20 priests concelebrating with him.

It may be recalled that Pavoor Uliya a small island created history by putting up a bridge with their hard earned money. Within a couple of days, it was destroyed by miscreants for some reasons and once again the people of Ulliya built it for the annual feast.

Nearly 500 people attended the Holy Eucharist and a sumptuous meal was served to all the guests arrived from near and far. Fr Gerald Lobo, parish priest of Uliya, thanked everyone for helping him celebrate the feast and for all the developmental work which was possible only due to the generous contribution from the donors.
