Stepping into the 9th Year:
Daijiworld Sets Foot into Print Media - Weekly Tabloid to Hit Stands Soon

Editorial

We are already into the second week of the New Year – 2009 - a rather challenging year for us in many ways. Daijiworld.com which took birth on 14 January 2001, is today eight years old.  In the past eight years daijiworld.com has witnessed   phenomenal growth in all spheres and  has emerged as a major and fearless media portal of Coastal Karnataka which serves people from all walks of life spread all over the globe.

Our journey in the year 2008 has been most challenging and fruitful one as compared to the earlier years of our existence. We faced several unexpected challenges from different quarters. Many incidents that occurred during the past year are surely fresh in the minds of our readers, some of which are sad and sensitive by nature. Yet Daijiworld stood up and faced the challenges and covered the events and issues with courage and conviction. Every member of daijiworld network team has contributed his / her best to make daijiworld what it is today – the numero uno portal of Coastal Karnataka.   We have the satisfaction of presenting unbiased news and views facts to thousands of our committed readers scattered in different corners of the globe.

It is an accepted fact that no media in this world can fully cater to the needs of every individual. In an era where people fight on the pretext of caste, creed, religion and language, it is extremely difficult to make every individual happy. We too have fallen short of catering to and satisfying the wishes of every individual.  But we are happy and proud to proclaim that we have succeeded in touching the hearts of a vast majority of people who have appreciated our efforts, vision and mission and showered us with accolades and praises from time to time.

While maintaining our good work we have entered into several new ventures and tried to keep pace with the fast developing technology. As readers may be aware, daijiworld.com was the first to launch the Internet TV concept from Mangalore and it still runs successfully, showing gradual improvements with each passing day. Now we are looking for newer options to serve our readers better. At this juncture, daijiworld is pleased to announce to its esteemed readers that it is soon launching an English weekly tabloid, 'Daijiworld Weekly'.

Based on the intensive survey conducted by our team in the last eight months, we have found that we need to venture into the print media.  In order to reach each and every household of coastal Karnataka we felt the need to get into the  print media where we can put across our innovative ideas, news and views, analysis,  opinions, current affairs, special columns for youth, kids and women etc., and thus encourage a new taste of reading among the public.  This weekly will act as a conduit that bridges the gap between the people of the coastal belt of Karnataka and the NRI’s scattered all over the world.

The Weekly will be promoted under the banner of a new company namely 'Daijiworld Publications Pvt Ltd'. Ten professionals representing different communities of the coastal belt will be drafted into the editorial board headed by an experienced and qualified editor-in-chief.  Concerted efforts will be made to build and strengthen our distribution network.

In the coming weeks the Weekly will come out with trial edittions and eventually a full-fledged hard copy publication will reach every corner of the world as well as every home of coastal Karnataka. More details on the Weekly will be disclosed during the launch of the weekly.

All these years we have been supported by our advertisers and sponsors, who have been instrumental in helping us to run the website successfully. The Weekly tabloid will also be run by the support of our advertisers as well as subscribers. Our marketing team will soon start the subscription campaign and we request our readers to subscribe to our weekly and support the further growth of 'daijiworld'.

On the auspicious day of Makara Sankranti, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to each and everyone who has been responsible for the growth of daijiworld. The year 2008 has shown a growth of 27% in our daily viewership and we hope that this trend will continue this year too with the patronage of our readers and well wishers.

Without our readers, advertisers, our committed staff, contributors, representatives world-wide and advertising agencies we would not have been able to see the dawn of this happy day. We owe everything to you dear patrons and we continue to seek your blessings in every step we take.

We assure you that the year 2009 will be even better, a year that will bring many glorious changes in our website. We are sure that our website daijiworld.com and our up-coming English weekly will further strengthen our bond.

On behalf of the Staff and Management of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd, I wish you all a bright and prosperous new year!

Yours sincerely,

Walter Nandalike

Editor-in-chief - Daijiworld.com
Managing Director - Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd

Congrats Daiji Team. God Bless u all. You have to see that you are the best media In our District. All the print media in our district have lost their credibility because of their communal nature. You are entering the print media at a juncture where people are hungry for clear and impartial portrayal of every incident without taking the communal colour. You have succeeded in capturing the hearts of millions worldwide and have earned the reputation from people of a wide section of society. I wish u all the best in this mission and hope to see that not a single book is left unsold. Thanks for the leadership of Walter.

This is a real test to find out how mature our general English-literate public who do not use the Internet are . The good thing perhaps is that those who can read, understand and digest English as it ought to, will take communal news more manfully than the readers of Kannada weekly. The journey for the fearless highly professional print media is anything but smooth, as recent events point out. Nonetheless, like many others from the various communities, I am impressed with Daijiworld and will certainly enjoy having them around as Print Media. Wish Walter Nandalike and his team whopping success in their brave new venture. May God bless this Media for good !

Congratulations to Daijiworld on completion of 8 fruitful years, efficiently headed by Mr.Walter Nandalike and ably assisted by the enthusiastic team of Daijians. Through the far flung news you have made the world appear smaller and smaller and the bouquet of news, views and juicy articles offered by you has brought the link from north pole to south pole closer and closer.

The encouragement given especially to the youngsters to express their views through articles, poems etc are really noteworthy. Keep up the goodwork and also continue through the new offering - WEEKLY TABLOID. Wish you all the best in both the old and new ventures. Placid and Grace Noronha.

Mr. Walter, Hearty Congratulations and best wishes to you and your team for all your future ventures. Look forward to the release of print media soon. Apart from news and views, I hope to see frequent articles exploring and showcasing the tourist places which are abundant in and around Mangalore, Udupi, Kundapur, Maravante and so many such other places. There is a huge opportunity for tourism. Since Daijiworld is being viewed by thousands of people around the world, through this media, I think you can throw light and unfurl these tourist spots, facilities available, how to reach etc., by carrying out some survey by your team. Thereafter, I am sure, the government authorities will seriously look into providing the required infrastructure to attract tourists. This way people around the coastal area will have a lot of job and commercial opportunities which will greately enhance their living standards.

Excellent gift to the world at large, specially to the Mangaloreans all over the globe that are familiarized so much so fast what's going on in their native land. In fact,we just sent a msg to the Bishop of Mangalore today in response to his kind msg that although we do not exchange communication with him too often, we are constantly briefed so much about Mangalore Diocese thru your web site.

We read the breaking news with photographs so quickly and so elaborately. Although we did not have the opportunity of meeting with you personally, all your dedication thru your website has been very well admired and appreciated. As far as we are concerned you are our "Man of the Year" for the year 2009 and hopefully we shall have the pleasure of honouring you one of these days either in Mangalore or in Dubai thru our International Institute for Public Policy.

May God bless you and your team abundantly today and always. Qudha Afiez.
