Bengaluru, Jan 20: Disgruntled Congress MLA Dr Umesh Jadhav from Chincholli constituency is likely to resign on Monday, January 21.

Jadhav had skipped the crucial Congress legislative meet on Friday. Currently he is in Mumbai and he will reportedly join the BJP in few weeks.

He is likely to resign following the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and according to reports Jadhav will contest as BJP candidate against Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge.

He had written a letter to CLP leader Siddaramaiah citing ill-health as a reason to skip the crucial meet.

According to reports, BJP has no candidate in Kalaburagi constituency. Hence, it is planning to pit Jadhav against Kharge who has tasted victory for 12 consecutive terms.
