Udupi: Janki earns accolades in dance performances

Udupi, Dec 19: Janki D V, disciple of Srishti Nritya Kala Kuteera won first place and received the title 'Natyarathna' in a Bharathanatyam Reality Show 'Natyarathna 2'produced and directed by Venki films which is telecast in Shankara Bhakti channel.

The competition was held at national level for kids below 15 years and around 560 contestants from different parts of India participated and were selected for the
audition, pre quarters, quarters and semi final rounds.

She was awarded with a beautiful Nataraja Vigraha (statue) Certificate and an amount of Rs 25,000. She is learning Bharathanatyam under guru Dr Manjari Chandra and is the proud daughter of Dhanya and Vipin who is an assistant manager at ISPRL Padur.



She studies in std 6 of Little Rock Indian School.

This year, Janki won second prize in the state level competition conducted by Hejje Gejje Dance Institution, won second prize in national level competition conducted by Sri Dugra Dance Academy Mysuru.

She has performed in more than 10 solo performances in and around Udupi in places like Kudroli, Ambalpady, Darbe Putturu, Kannarpady, Krishnamatha and several others.
