Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (GA)

Mangalore, Nov 17: Some unidentified miscreants, who arrived in a car in the small hours of Monday November 17, attacked the office of Kannada eveninger 'Karavali Ale' and injured the policeman who was on duty there.

Sources said that about six unidentified miscreants arrived in a white car around 2.45 am on Monday to Karavali Ale office at Baikampady near here. They entered the office premises after forcibly opening the closed gates. The miscreants then attacked a policeman who had been deployed on duty there. It could be recalled that Karavali Ale office had been given police protection after some miscreants had attacked the office sometime ago.

After assaulting the policeman, the miscreants broke open into the office and ransacked the premises. They broke chairs, smashed window panes before fleeing the place. Before the locals could come to the spot, the miscreants had fled the place.

The motive and unseen hands behind the attack are not known. Since Karavali Ale has been in the forefront of exposing many issues which go unnoticed and bringing to light many a scam that people are not aware, a lot of people have been nursing anger against Karavali Ale. So it is suspected that present attack might have been carried out by any of these freak groups.

Violence of any nature is not good. However, when the "newspaper" (does it look like a newsroom to any of you?) in question has been committing assault of general public by its baseless articles, no one seems to be bothered! (may be there is a section of the society, which takes pleasure out of reading abusive articles!)

It is a real shame on the part of the attackers doing their nasty job at 2.30 a.m. They are cowhards who have no guts to face the newspaper editor . The police should nab the culprits and bring them to justice. Karavali Ale brings out the truth. May God bless the editor. Pastor E. W. Frank

It is very sadful incident. Attacking press means attack on the freedom of speech. If some one thinking that news papers should not disclose evil designs of vested interest group, then it is nothing but foolishness. News Paper is the watch dog of consitution. It has all the rights to express its opinion. Attackers should remember one thing that they could not gain anything by attacking one news paper house. They may get only some alcohol from their sponsores for the attack carried out. I feel very proud about Karavali Ale News Bulletin. This paper is not like other news papers which is always producing news only with the commercial interest. Karavali Ale Dont get afraid, go ahead, continue your fearless news.

Police should have permission to shot the person who attacks him on duty. Then what is the use of deploying police in sensitive place.

This Karavali Ale evening news paper randomly produces news without bothering society. There are mindless people writing as per their illusions. Many places miscreants have created havoc and police were unable to detain them who are taking laws in their hands. Maharastra government passed a resolution that whoever causes destruction of public and private property will be penalized severely. Such kind of law is imminent and imperative in all the states with strict implementation. We have several laws obviously no other nations will have such laws but implementation is only a question where corruption plays important role. One commentator in the Daijiworld expressed his view that even corruptive people are alright however they accomplish the job but he disapproves communal minded people. I agree with his view positively and effectively communal mind of the society will dismantle whole structure of the nation.
