Udupi, Sep 28: The mortal remains of nurse Hazel Mathias of Shirva origin, who committed suicide more than two months ago, in Saudi Arabia, will arrive at Bengaluru on Thursday, September 27 by a Gulf Airways cargo flight.

From Bengaluru, the body will be brought to Hazel's native Shirva and the funeral will be held on Friday, September 28 at 4 pm at Our Lady of Health Church.

It has been 70 days since Hazel committed suicide. From the last two months Denis Noronha, who is a well-wisher of Hazel's family and also the power of attorney holder, was putting in all efforts in the process of repatriating her body to India. Denis Noronha, who is a native of Nitte, is an entrepreneur in Saudi Arabia since 26 years and owns Microtech Electronics and Telecommunication Company. Denis had to travel nearly 400 kilometres from the place of his company in order to reach the Al Miqua Government Hospital in order to help with the process of sending Hazel's mortal remains to India. After two months of struggle and continuous follow-up, Denis is finally successful in sending the body of Hazel to her native place.

Denis Noronha said that Sheik Saud, president of NRI Forum of Saudi Arabia, has also helped him in this relentless effort in repatriating the body to India.
