Udupi, Sep 21: The mortal remains of nurse from Shirva near here, Hazel, who was working at Saudi Arabia and had committed suicide there, are expected to reach her native place on September 26.

Sources said that her funeral rites would be conducted at Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva on the same day.

Hazel's body will reach Bengaluru by Gulf Airways on the night of September 25. Arrangements have been made to bring the mortal remains here by ambulance.

As per the recommendations of MLC, Ivan D'Souza, a financial assistance of one lac rupees has been sanctioned to the members of the family of the deceased by NRI Forum Karnataka. Ivan said that all arrangements have been made to bring the mortal remains after collecting the casket from Bengaluru airport. He said that minister, Dr Jayamala, will be taking part in the funeral as a representative of the state government.

It has been about two months since Hazel killed herself. The person who was responsible for her death has been in custody but it is gathered that subjecting him to stern legal action are remote.

There is some foul play in this case the government is definitely hiding some more facts. I pity these women who go all alone to work in the Arab land with little self security. Hope people learn something from this incident and about the Arab culture and justice we as Indians receive from such Arabs. Had it been an Arab woman and Indian man he would have been straight away beheaded.

Very very true... Every single minute must be torturing for them... Difficult to express...we people, unknown to her family feeling so bad, what may be the feelings of her family.. No one should have such painful situation in their lives.
May god bless and strengthen her family.
