Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Sep 15: A Taluk panchayat official, on Saturday, September 15, admitted in front of MLA that he indeed demanded bribe from some panchayat development officers (PDO).

Sadananda, a taluk panchayat executive official, is the accused.

As per details available, Sadananda demanded bribe from PDOs of the taluk to clear some files. He told them that he cannot work if he is not paid money. The PDOs thought that Sadananda crossed the limits and, they gheraoed the taluk office. They asked him to stop demanding money from them.

Bharat Shetty, MLA Mangaluru North, heard about the incident and visited taluk panchayat office. He took Sadananda to task and demanded proper explanation. Sadananda said that he was compelled to accept bribe as he has to pay to the finance department to get the work done. He said that finance department demands money to release the budget funds.

Reminds me of an incident in our WhatsApp groups. One of my friends in Gulf was finding it difficult to get driving licence and was enquiring if it was possible to bribe anyone like in Mangalore. The group otherwise is high discussing anticorruption. But when it comes to our personal matters we actually enjoy corruption as an added previlege to get things done faster. Thanks to our huge population which no politician ever talks about.

Corruption is in our blood ! Either we will take or else we will give....... ! Many go Govt offices and bribe them to get their work done fast.

Great Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam once said we cannot eradicate corruption in one day, but we can make our next generation corruption free if we educate them well. We have to nourish and Up bring our children well.....

What a joke? Does this MLA has any guts to ask source of income of Shobha Karandlaje who was an ordinary hospital worker? BJP against corruption is a big joke only idiots praise BJP. BJP is more corrupt than Congress and need to kick out BJP. BJP has failed in all aspects . High prices of essential commodities, dead rupee, closing down of small and medium industries, communal hatred are gifts of BJP. Other than blaming previous government, BJP has done nothing.

If compared to 'Raffle' deal to purchase 36 fighter jet against 126 agreed earlier, this small fish in large ocean.
The Mangalore constituency is ruled by BJP since 1991 for 25 straight years. But there are no major investment other than UPA government gave to this city.

The sitting MP says he gave the city 14,000 crores to his constituency. When it comes to reality check this investment are just imaginary.

    People,

To be fair with everybody...I would suggest 'Bribe Price' should be fixed and displayed in the notice board of all Government Offices...so everything will be clear and beyond doubts...

Also in the notice board...percentages allotted to higher ups should be mentioned as well...

    Everything should be transparent....and clean...
