Patna, Oct 20: Worried over attacks on Bihari students in Maharasahtra, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar demanded stern action against the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists and full security to students from Bihar.

Nitish Kumar requested Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh to deal with such divisive elements with an iron fist. "I expect the Maharashtra government to act tough and protect our students," Nitish Kumar said in Patna on Monday morning.

He said the attacks by MNS activists railway board examination centres on Sunday in Mumbai were meant to create terror among students from Bihar. Dozens of students from Bihar were assaulted and have been injured.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar directed the additional director general of police to contact senior police officials in Maharashtra and compile a report on Sunday's incident and asked the home commissioner to hold talks with the Maharashtra home secretary to seek protection for people from Bihar.

Several political and social outfits continued to protest and burn effigies of MNS chief Raj Thackeray in Patna.

If there was any discrepancy in the Railway recruitment system, certainly any organization could protest it in a non violent way. Others also would have supported. Beating the students who came to give exams is wrong. What was their fault, just because they are from North India.

Biharis and people of U.P. are human beings. Beating the helpless students is barbaric. Raise your voice against the system and not against the individuals who have come for their livelihood. Do you call your mob terror as an act of civilization?

All kinds of groups today in the name of nationalistic idea's, regional idea's, religious idea's seem to have a right to enforce what they think is right. Are the govt's outsourcing law and order to groups or associations? Look at karnataka, Bajarangis run law & order, Maharastra - MNS, Bengal - TMC, J&K - Pak sponsered groups, just to name a few..
