Mangaluru diocese to collect donations to help flood victims in Kerala

Mangaluru, Aug 17: Torrential rains in several parts of Kerala have taken a heavy toll on life and property, with many bearing the brunt of the floods. Mangaluru diocese, has come with an effective initiative to help the flood victims in Kerala by collecting funds from the faithful for this noble cause.

Expressing grief over the huge loss of lives and property it has requested people to come forward to help generously the victims. Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza in a press release has asked contributions in all the churches of the diocese on August 19 to be sent to the victims’ help.

He has further said that he will pray for the souls of people who have died in the calamities and conveyed his condolences to their families.

    Whether they are our neighbours or from far,it is our duty to help anyone who is in need, lost their houses,many died due to floods.It can happen to anybody.when we help others,it comes back to us one day or other .It is a humanitaer help.Every year somewhere in a corner of the world,this catastroph happens.
