Bengaluru: Prisoners write letter to CM seeking mercy killing

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Aug 17: In a strange and bizarre request, more than 10 prisoners who are serving their sentence since 16 to 20 years for the crime they have committed, have written a letter to H D Kumaraswamy, chief minister of Karnataka to approve them for mercy killing.

They have cited that the concerned officials in the prison are not showing any concern to their request to release them before the completion of their sentence.

Hence, they want be put to death by mercy killing.

I find that these prisoners were long enough in the jail .when more than 30years when they are inside is too much or even 20years and sure fed up with their life.I am sure even they comeout now, dont think able to lead a normal life .because outside world is so much changed they cant find themselves to do anything .Their home people are so strangers to them, many may not accept them,as a insass.may feel ashamed.smallones may not be knowing them.Thatswhy they should be allowed to lead a life free either inside or let them allow to go out and trial for sometime.

Rita, Germany , the very fact the accused are given life term is because of their Heinous crime ! if any one of the murderer is released and if he stays in your building, im sure you'll be the 1st person to shift your residence !
The criminals have reduced someone else's lifeline , killed someones father, mother, brother or sister... If one of the criminals would have done a crime against your family, would you still support their petition to be set free ?

If these prisoners have murdered and ruined any ones life, don't leave them out, if they want to die put them to death without any mercy. Here in the US a week back a person who raped and murdered a 7 year old girl in 1985 was put to death last week. Another who killed 2 people in 1979 was put to death 2 days later.

Prisoners who have attained their age of above 60 years after having served over 14 years of imprisonment should be released on compassionate grounds. They commit a crime at the spur of the moment when they have no control over their senses or anger. 14 years of incarceration will help them realise their mistake and repent. Governments should take a bold decision on their release.

So you mean to say that others also should commit crimes, go to jail, get free food and shelter and release them at one particular age? What message you are giving to the society? For example..do you know the pain of rape victim? Our legal system is rubbish as it supports crimes due to money and political power. No mercy to these criminals. They don't deserve to live in the society.

Myna, Mysuru, if they are release and rent an apartment next to your house , will you make friends with them and invite them home ? im sure you will be the 1st one to complain to the building society for giving shelter to a criminal else will shift your residence immediately !

Myrna..above 60 of years age should be spared as per you? If some one has raped and put into jail and when he attains the age of 60 should be released. What is the guarantee that he won't rape again? Do you take guarantee? Hope you have not read about Asaram Bapu and others who are 60+ and still they raped young girls.
