Thank you, Toastmaster Dr. Molly Chaudhuri for taking all the initiatives in organizing the TLI training at Sahyadri College recently. More than 140 Club and District Officers being trained, guided and motivated at one time was a fantastic achievement on behalf of your District.

As much as some of the Toastmasters may find the Training as a redundant opportunity to meet and greet, and learn few of the essential tips of familiarizing the prevailing Rules and formalities, these Training Institutes do provide a refresher course to all the newly elected Club and District Officers to be familiar with all the Rules and Regulations in order to conduct their individual roles as Club Officers or District officials. The TLI gatherings also give an opportunity to meet one another and familiarize their new responsibilities in order to fulfill a new and successful term. The gathering also renders an opportunity to meet one another and get familiarized with their Clubs or Areas or Divisions and seek mutual help and guidance wherever applicable.

Taking part in the TLI programs is therefore essential and help. More than 14 years ago, when I was elected as a District Governor (now Director), I also chose myself as a "Sergeant at Arms" for my Club in order to display my ability as a "Servant Leader". I sat with another 65 Sergeant at Arms of the District and not only learnt some of the new techniques but was also able to meet 65 other Sergeant at Arms at one time under one roof. Personal acquaintances are some of the salient features of Toastmasters World thru which you get to know the people and their individual perceptions towards the style of Leadership and friendship.
