Karkala, Jul 17: Karkala police have successfully arrested a person relating to the murder of Florine Machado alias Florine D'Souza, who was residing at Kukkundur here.
Mohammed Riaz (33), a native of Hosmaru and presently residing in his wife's house at Ullal, is the arrested person.
The accused had been to the Dargah at Ajmer in Rajasthan after committing the crime. Karkala police team, under the leadership of circle inspector Joy Antony, who got definite information on his whereabouts, arrested Mohammed in Mumbai and brought him to Karkala.

Mohammed Riaz, who used to conduct cable business in UAE, had returned to India a few years ago. He got acquainted with Florine through Facebook. Mohammed, who got complete information about Florine, who was residing separately from her husband, had won her heart by helping her in various ways.
In the midst of all these developments, it has come to light, that Mohammed had given Rs 13 lac in cash, which he had collected from the chit fund to Florine.
Karkala police, who have arrested Mohammed, are conducting further investigation into the matter.
