Udupi: Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkoota to hold day long workshop for aspiring singers

Udupi, Jun 23: Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkoota, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi will organise a day-long workshop for all aspiring singers. The workshop will be held at Shivagiri auditorium, Bannanje here on June 24 on the occasion of decennial celebration of the okkoota.

Addressing media, Naveen Chandra Koppa, secretary of Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkoota, Udupi said, “The main objective of the workshop is to give more knowledge on music to those who are trained in music. Famous musicians, who play various instruments, will train aspiring musicians. The organization intends to introduce artists from south India and Udupi district to the world of music.

“In the workshop, experienced musicians will teach upcoming musicians how to be more professional. The workshop will be held in three sessions. Over 60 people will participate in the workshop,” he said.

Jagadish Shetty, president, Managluru zone, and Bhaskar Basrur, president, Udupi zone will be present in the workshop.

Hindustani Singer Pandith Ravishankar, film background singer Yashwanth and popular singer Sangeetha Balachandra will be the trainers in the workshop.

The workshop will be open for everyone.
