Numbers not in favour of Modi govt in 2019, 47% wouldn't give second chance: Survey

Daijiworld Media Network

Mumbai, May 25: In comparison to 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Modi wave seems to be failing to catch up in the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections, with majority of the people who answered ABP News-CSDS Mood of the Nation survey revealing that Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) does not deserve second innings.

Of the 15,859 respondents from 19 states, who answered the survey, almost 47 percent opined Modi does not deserve a second chance in 2019 while 39 percent said would vote for him, and the rest remained non-committal.

The survey reveals that anti-Modi sentiments were strong among the religious minorities. "About three-fourths of Muslims, three-fifths of Christians and over half the Sikhs indicated that they do not wish to see the Modi government coming back to power next year," the survey found out.

What came in as a surprise was a sizeable section of voters from the majority Hindu community also carrying an anti-BJP sentiment.

Among the Hindu voters while 44 percent believed that Modi regime should continue, 42 percent harboured anti-Modi sentiments. Among the Hindus around 55 percent Dalits, 43 percent Adivasis and 42 percent dominant OBC communities, who have been victims of atrocities, opposed the present government.

In case a snap Lok Sabha election is conducted, 32 percent confirmed they would vote for BJP. A similar survey was held in the beginning of 2018 and here it showed that 34 percent would vote for BJP in case of instant election. The 2 percent drop indicates that Modi government’s popularity is decreasing among voters.

The numbers of this survey has similarity with a survey conducted in July 2013, nine months prior to 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Back then, 39 percent were against the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and 31% were in favour. Around 30 percent remained non committal. The UPA alliance managed to win only 60 seats while BJP formed the government in 2014.

It is done in the behest to manipulate the EVM according to the sentiments of the voters.

    Harish,

Is this enticement, or a taunt ??

Let me tell you and I will repeat it several times in times to come and that I've told before too - RG will never be a PM because of the fear he has in his mind after succumbing to the death of two heads of his family in his life time - slain due to politics. SG is a gone case to be a Minister due to her health status.

There are enough educated and able members in the party who will be at the helm when time comes. If you are suggesting that people will shun from the party because of the two members waiting to grab powers, you will be highly disappointed. Because only the other party comes in the scene apart from Congress is BJP which is suffocating under the knuckles of RSS and this not acceptable to people of India. Indians need social harmony, not communal unrest that RSS is propagating through BJP.

Nevertheless, failure to give people friendly governance in the present term, BJP has more repairs to do than reaping.

Too early to celebrate. Another poll yesterday has said it will just cross the required mark.

But certainly it is a point of concern as just a year back what seemed like a cakewalk for BJP seems like a struggle now. In the end it may end up losing 70-80 seats but still can make it if elections are held today. UPA on the other hand will consolidate its seats for sure and make up for the loss it suffered in 2014 but still well short of the required numbers.

It is likely that NDA is voted back to power just like we saw UPA come to power in second term. What is worrying is the gap has drastically narrowed between Modi and Rahul by just 10 points that wouldn't have even thought of a year back.

The advantage BJP had back in 2014 with a fresh face not known nationally to many will be missing this time as any Govt seeking re election will be judged by their failures of their past rule.

Even in assembly BJP is in Clear Majority ONLY in 10 states out of 29.

On the Other Hand BJP has:

    ZERO Seats in Sikkim
    ZERO Seats in Mizoram and
    ZERO Seats in Tamilnadu.

4out of 175 seats in Andhra,
1 out Of 140 in Kerala,
3 out of 117 in Punjab,
3 out of 294 in WB,
5 out of 119 in Telangana,
3 out of 70 in Delhi,
10 out of 147 in Orissa
12 out of 60 in Nagaland

Also In states where BJP is Part of Ruling coalition it has got
2 out of 60 in Meghalaya
53 out of 243 in Bihar
    25 out of 87 in J&K
13 out of 40 seats in Goa.

Summing up all figures, what we get is that
out of total 4139 Assembly Seats all over the country, BJP have 1516
among which 950 of BJP MLAs come from 6 states such as Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, UP, MP, Rajasthan.

So the fact about BJP is popular in the country is more of a hype and myth. 🤣... Share this post and BREAK the MYTH

    MODI BRAND FALLING!!!???
Result of arrogant divisive politics and one man decisions without proper planning like demonetization and unilateral decisions of improperly running of institutions and índirectly supporting Hindu outfits for cow slaughter, mob killing, love jihad issues without issuing stern warnings. PM must govern and look after daily issues but he is in canvassing for state elections and foreign tours!!!???

Biases and religious partition of bjp will destroy them and pUT india into a risk of disaster. Such a great nation with great people with corrupt bias politican makes it shameful. Don't worry opposition will ally and jointly fight the BJP. Alliances will be formed on a state to state basis. All India the party that wins the most seats in the opposition alliance may likely get to have their person as PM. This is how the strategy seems to be unfolding now.
Also note this not a boxing match between Modi and Rahul. Unlike the USA India has a parliamentary form of democracy where political parties contest and not individuals. However, Feku party want to have this contest about individuals because of 56" capacity to fool people with speeches. Remember if Indira could be defeated so can Modi be defeated and he will be in LS 2018/2019, EVM or no EVM.

Some NRIs and PIOs are still obsessed with the 'Modi' image. However, Indian residents have begun to see how hollow that paid media created image is. Further, residents have to bear the brunt of Modi government's failures on all fronts but not NRIs/PIOs. In addition to getting to show off Modi's image/profile to colleagues and friends overseas there is the added incentive of getting more rupees for their dollars. There are some overseas NRIs/PIOs who in a sadistic kind of way want to see India backward and corrupt so that they can make huge investments in property, bribe officials more easily for favours and can have cheap labour say to do up their houses and have lot more servants to serve them. In short they can have a life of luxury for themselves which they can never even dream of in developed nations. We know these 'patriotic' types just too well.

Why we need to give him a second chance did he fulfilled any of promise like job employment, bringing tax down ( All under GST) petrol and diesel price are still increasing day by day with all price are increasing, Black money promises, 15 lakhs and what and what

He is only fit for roaming around the world, and attending election rally, Apart from that he did not speak any thing apart from blaming congress and past.

I am not support of any party as no one think of common man just think how they can fill their pockets and make money for the next five year

Can any one answer we are paying so much taxes where all this is going, I cannot see any development and we dont get any social security also , Apart from the Govt giving free biees from tax payer money. I dont mind giving let them give from their own pocket right and stop giving false promise.

I dont know what election commission role is they need to get all this crooks to book if they cannot fulfill their promise which they promise during election rally as no one forces then to do so.26
