What is the use of this election ? Anybody wins does not make a difference, here in Mangalore if anyone comes to power living conditions cannot be better in Mangalore. Promises made by anyone are not fulfilled and in the following year the candidates come with new manifesto just misleading the voters. In Mangalore we do not have well constructed footpaths. Sometimes we do cannot differentiate between footpath and road. Buses stop anywhere they like in Mangalore, no signals in Mangalore. Senior citizens, women, children and disabled cannot cross the road because we do not have proper functioning signals in Mangalore and they have to risk their lives. Some places bus shelters have been demolished and roads with inter locking the roads are in a bad state. Voters have to only think twice which candidate would be good to be elected and really be our representative.
Surprising about 2 weeks back when I had called the corporator about something obstructing pedestrians from walking on the footpath, the corporators answer was that the officials are busy in election duty. But today in another area were a residential area were the residents were troubled with some rain water because of a alteration of a drain the officers from the corporation were all present and they did not have any election duty. What a difference and looks like elected representative do not want to do any work sincerely.
