Mangaluru, Apr 24: Staunch supporter of Hindutva principles and state secretary of BJP's backward classes Morcha, Satyajith Suratkal, is a disturbed man. Angered by the denial of ticket to him by the party, he has accused MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, of playing a hand in robbing his chances. In an open revolt, he has accused the party leaders of neglecting those who worked for the party since long and giving importance to those who recently came into the party.

BJP leaders, Sangh Parivar stalwarts and others tried their best to convince Satyajith on Monday April 23 about the prevailing situation and why he could not be given the party ticket. But Satyajith has been unrelenting, sources stated. 

At the meeting of his supporters and fans held at Hosabettu on Sunday, Satyajith said he had been serving the Sangh Parivar since the last 35 years, and that he had expressed his willingness to take part in the assembly election this time under pressure from party workers. "I have been denied the ticket. But the leaders have not provided clear reason why my claim was overlooked. If my demand is not met by 10 am on Monday and justice is not done, I will announce my decision in the presence of the media," he had said. 

MLC, Ganesh Karnik, visited Satyajith at his house on Sunday evening and held consultation. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader, Na Seetharam also met him on Monday.   Karnik came again with MP and BJP national vice president, Omprakash Mathur, in a bid to defuse the situation arising out of the leader's anger. 

Satyajith explained in detail about his position and also why he is going through a sense of indignation. He said that he is ready to climb down from his stand if the leaders are able to convince him about the justification for rejecting his claim. He expressed readiness to leave the position he holds in the party and to work as a common worker. The leaders, who held discussions for long, went back, duly promising to contact him again. 

The situation has become interesting in view of Satyajith's continued stubborn stand on the issue. It is said that either Satyajith or a leader of the organization might be fielded as an independent candidate if the leadership is not in a position to appease Satyajith or properly respond to his grievances.
