Udupi, Apr 24: Lalaji Mendon, BJP candidate from Kaup, filed his nomination amid fanfare after holding a huge public rally on Monday, April 23.

Lalaji Mendon started the procession from Kaup BJP office. He also visited Marigudi, and Janardhan temple by padayatra, followed by a visit to Vishwanath temple, Katapady.

Addressing mediapersons said, “BJP supporters and senior leaders have given me this opportunity to contest elections. Kaup is a big constituency. There is more than a lac of voters in Kaup. It is an agriculture and fishing area.

“If I win the election, I will focus on the integrated development of Kaup and provide jobs for the youths. I will take up the construction of protective wall near the sea to prevent erosion.

“There is an anti-Congress wave in Udupi. So I am confident that people will support us this time also,” he said.

Katpady Shankar Poojary, Shashank Shivattaya, Prakash Shetty Padebettu, Gangadhar Suvarna and others were present.
