Mangaluru, Apr 2: President of Amritadhara Cow Shelter Committee at Punyakoti Nagar in Kairangala near here, T G Rajaram Bhat, has undertaken fast unto death to protest against the forcible snatching away of cows from the cow shelter recently and demanding action against the culprits since Sunday April 1 morning. Several local people who share his views, have also undertaken protest demonstration in his support.

Although the local police officials tried to convince the concerned to drop their plan of undertaking protest, the protesters did not budge from their decision.

The protesters have asserted that there is no question of going back from their decision to continue with hunger strike till the thieves of the cows are arrested and they confess to their crime. They say that this will sound a warning to cattle thieves. They have warned that if the protest does not draw positive response from the concerned, the protest will be intensified further by way of relay dharna. They said that people affected by such cow thefts in the past also would join the protest towards intensifying it further if the response of the authorities remains lukewarm.

Before beginning the protest, Rajaram Bhat stated that this is a social movement and no castes or religions are being targetted. He felt that religious bigots and ganja addicts are indulging in such things in order to disrupt peace in the society.

City block BJP president, Santosh Kumar Rai, urged the government to take suitable steps against the culprits and not to remain blind to such incidents.

Taluk panchayat member, Naveen Padalpady, Ammembal Service Cooperative Society vice president, Jayaram Shetty Kambalapadavu, dignitaries like Jagadish Alva Kuvettabail, Konaje Shankar Bhat, Yedambale Satyanarayana Bhat, Nitin Gatty, Ramachandra Gatty, K I Keshava Bhat and others were present.

It may be recalled that miscreants had attacked Amritadhara cow shelter thrice in the recent past and forcibly taken away three cows sheltered there. Interestingly none of these miscreants have been nabbed so far.

Only after BJP came to power and banned the cattle trade and beef eating, we hear about the thefts of cattle. Government should have no business to say what to eat and what not . Before this cow gobargovernment came to power there were no thefts of cattle.

Why bjp is follwong double standard while banning beef in few states and no ban in others. Why dont they declare cow as national animal.

Why bjp supported business tycoon are exporting beef from Gujarat. Why no ban on them?

Cows stolen are transported to these beef exporters and thievs are none but hired goondas of anti national parties. These people sell cows to the needy people and at the same time inform their own people to steal them from the purchasers. They are doing good business in stealing and selling cows.

Police might take their own time and just imagine if it takes another 2 to 3 weeks, what will happen to these people? How can they survive if they are really fasting without food and water?
Finally police will be forced to catch and arrest some innocent muslim youth for no fault of theirs!

Its better the beef gets banned. Rather not eat than eating what's stolen. Yet they would'nt stop stealing, as they can sell its skin for leather production and also cosmetic industries. That's the harsh reality.

    Dear Honorable Chief Minister Siddharamaiah,

I urge you to increase cattle population in Karnataka so that the government will have good business from beef exports and cattle to the neighbouring states.

We the Karnataka people want cattle slaughter houses in each and every taluks of Karnataka state

The real issue is cow thefts because of cow vigilantes themselves are thieves and these cow vigilantes should be jailed.

ALL THIEVES SHOULD BE INSIDE THE JAIL.

Presently beef is costing high to the citizens in Karnataka and India.

I urge the central and state governments to increase cattle population and cattle slaughter houses in each and every taluks, so that every human will have beef at the cheap price.

Once cattle population is increased and slaughter houses in our own vicinity's revenue of India will increase due to exports and plenty of beef meat to Indians.

Why they will nab tell me ? One person involved in such a heinous activity has been caught after 25 years. Let's wait another 25 years for the arrest of the above people who involved in cow stealing.. If such culprits are caught, hafta will be stopped...its really inhumane to rob the cows from the shed and transport them in a most cruel way... Cows are dumb animals... They are huge...poor animals can't escape from the clutches of this cruel people.
