Dubai, Mar 31: The much awaited live concert of Band Charitra will be held at Sheik Rashid auditorium, Indian High School, Oud Mehta on April 13 at 1.30 pm. The tickets of the event, which is organized by Precious Parties & Entertainments Services, Dubai, were released at Feet Beat Art Center, Karama recently.
The event was attended by renowned personalities from Konkani world including Fr Robert Lasrado, spiritual director, St Mary’s Catholic Church, Dubai who presided as the chief guest of the programme, along with entrepreneur and philanthropist Joseph Mathias and lead singer of Band Charitra Melwyn Anthony D’Souza.
Releasing the tickets of the event, Fr Robert appreciated Konkan Yuva (KY) for their efforts in taking up the challenge of organizing ‘Band Charitra – Live in Concert’ for a larger audience and also for reaching out to the Konkani community and bringing them together. He also highlighted the spirit of KY team for conducting the event despite the last minute time change on the event day. Fr Robert requested the gathering to support the only youth group of Konkani community belonging to St Mary’s Church in their event.
Dayan D’Souza, founder member of Daiji Writer's Forum, lauded the activities of KY and their efforts in making every event successful. He recalled the previous events organized by KY such as Comedy Prince Pradeep Barboza’s drama ‘Ootre Ujwadlem’ and ‘Kevin Misquith – Live in Concert’, which were immensely successful. He also praised Melwyn for being a crowd puller and promised the audience a spectacular and successful show.
Joseph Mathias, who is also an ace singer and actor, appreciated the efforts taken up by KY. He mentioned that it is a privilege to serve Konkani community and congratulated KY on effortlessly serving the community since 14 years.

Band Charitra is all set to perform its first ever live in concert in Dubai. The musical night consists of performances by Mike Simon, Loy Valentine Saldanha and Lavita Lobo (Part of A R Rahman’s troupe), Melwyn Anthony D’Souza, lead singer, Patson Pereira, Ian Saldanha, Rikith Soans, Akshanda Talaulikar and Konkani music legend Michael Simon Pereira, fondly known as Mike Simon. The band will be performing in various languages from Konkan belt of India. Along with various singers, there will be rib tickling comedy skits by Steve, Lancy and Jaison from Kuwait.
