Good Friday ceremonies in Mangalore during our early days of the school will always be remembered with lots of humility and prayer. Good Friday services at the Milagres Church were the best services in Mangalore diocese. The crowd was church full, and the Good Friday services were beginning late in the evening and end up late dark hours too.

Lowering of the statue of Jesus Christ from the huge cross inside the church was a ceremony of deep mourning duly accompanied by the sad music from the church choir. Our favorite veteran frieds "Thomasab" and "Jackam" were appearing in the Middle Eastern attire and lower the statue of Jesus from the high cross, and then the statue duly placed in a large cracle covered with white sheets and fresh jasmine flowers was carried thru the main streets of Hampankatte and brought back to Milagres Chuch. We still remember, as the mourning procession marched thru the quiet streets, several thousand non-Christians used to stand in reverence alongside the street and pay their respects to all the mourning Catholics.

Those were the sweet memories that we can still cherish from a distance and thank God for giving us freedom of faith in and aroud Mangalore and the rest of India. God Friday is a special day of the Year to whisper a small prayer and thank God for giving us the fresh memories of the past to remember and remain proud.

Dear saldana the Bible clearly maention in chapter EZikil 19 The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them.
So how come he died for our sin .
Why are we called sinner the crime which we did not do .if Adam is the sinner why we have to bear Adam's sin .

Jesus Paid The Penalty For Sin

The death of Christ was the payment for sin-the ransom paid to God to satisfy His holy demands. The Bible pictures humans as sinners who had rebelled against God. Christ's death on the cross paid the penalty for the sin of humankind. Jesus died in our place as our substitute, receiving the punishment that was due us.

    The Bible says.

[Jesus Christ] was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification (Romans 4:25).

Read it .every Major prophet speaks about the son of god , and his suffering for the sins of mankind .and this was written 2000 years Before Jesus came into this earth .thid is what happens when you blindly refer a one mans book .

    Dear Rolf
Your sticking to old testament. There is no doubt that Jesus himself is Lord. Since He is God he has every power including forgiving our sins.I suggest you please invite him in your heart & enjoy true peace. After resurrection Jesus said all authority and power given to him. If you have power you can do everything. & Lord Jesus has power to do everything.
