Sullia, Feb 20: In a shocking incident, a college student allegedly stabbed a girl to death reportedly over love failure.
The accused, Karthik, allegedly killed Akshata, a student of the same college here on Tuesday February 20.
After stabbing the girl, Karthik slit his wrists in a bid to commit suicide. He has been admitted to hospital and is out of danger.
It is said that Karthik, a BSc student of NMC College, Sullia, was in love with Akshata who was also a BSc student in the same college, but she turned down his advances. Angered at her refusal, Karthik allegedly stabbed Akshata while she was standing on the main street.
Sources claimed that Karthik stabbed her six times, causing her instant death.
The police have secured arrest of the accused who is currently under treatment.
A case has been registered in Sullia police station and investigations are on.
