Mangaluru: Shilpa of 'Halli Mane Rotties' gets brand new Bolero truck from Anand Mahindra

Mangaluru, Feb 5: In a proud moment recognising the grit and enterprising spirit of human endeavour, Executive chairman of Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra has gifted a Bolero Maxi Truck Plus to Shilpa, an inspiring food entrepreneur based in Mangaluru. Shilpa is the owner and chef of the popular 'Halli Mane Rottis' a mobile fast food outlet located at Mannugudda here.

The key of the Bolero Maxi Truck Plus was handed over to Shilpa by CEO of Karnataka Agencies R C Rodrigues in a ceremony held at Karnataka Agencies, Kottara here on Monday February 5. The new Bolero Maxi Truck Plus costs Rs 6 lac.

Shilpa, originally from Hassan, is the owner, chef and manager of 'Halli Mane Rotties'. Her inspiring story of success caught the attention of executive chairman Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra. Daijiworld too had highlighted her journey of grit in the face of difficulties.

Impressed by the success story of Shilpa, Anand Mahindra decided to support Shilpa with a Bolero Maxi Truck Plus. The sole breadwinner of the family, Shilpa single handedly set up her mobile food joint which largely operated out of a Bolero pick up truck. Mahindra's decision to gift Shilpa a Bolero was prompted by her desire to expand her services, and set up another joint in the city.

CEO of Karnataka Agencies R C Rodrigues said, "I congratulate Shilpa on her achievement. Indeed, she is an inspiration to all. The media highlighted Shilpa's story which prompted Mahindra Group to gift her a new Bolero Maxi truck. I wish her all the best for her future endeavours."

Thanking the Mahindra Group, Shilpa said, "I am grateful to the media for highlighting the story about my mobile canteen Halli Mane Rotties. I am planning to start a second outlet at Kankanady and looking for a space. Discussion is on about hiring staff for the next outlet."

Partner of Karnataka Agencies Santhosh Rodrigues, Shilpa's parents Nagaratna and Chandrashekar, Shilpa's brother Chiranjeevi, Shilpa's son Adhitya Raj and others were present.

    Mr. Ratan Rodrigues needs to be thanked and appreciated for his outreach in indeed helping Shilpa pursue her undying spirit for her sustenance and upkeep. We all know that a woman's triumph in a world embedded with hurdles and innumerable turmoil is considered very special because of their undying zeal, grit and determination. Women like Shilpa can strive to make a world a better place to live in if they get ample support and backup from different NGO's and agencies run by women all across the countries. Women universally are now on the same bandwidth just like male counterparts - be it in every sphere of life. All the best to Shilpa in all her endeavours.

    Namma Kudla is well known to rally around the poor and the needy which has been our culture for ages.

    The story of Shilpa should be a great motivation to scores of people here to look for decent and honest ways if living. Such instances should be a lesson for people who turn anti socials in the name of religion and joblessness.

    And for that each one of us should shed our ego and limit our differences to ourselves and not allow it to ruin the social fabric of our Kudla.

    Kudos to Shilpa and thanks to Anand Mahindra for noticing and acting in kind. You have always been so !!

    This sums up the story of continuous strive, grit and determination. Nothing to do with being woman, its just human struggle for excellence. And yes, the big corporate's need to encourage and support start-ups, like they have done in this case.     Woman's courage is inspiring and outstanding. Hope many women would learn to be brave like her instead of settling down for minimum. One of my observations is that if Shilpa can teach all who watch her to be cautious about hygiene. Believe it or not, we Indians lack a sense of hygiene very much. Probably we didn't learn nor most of us are ready to learn, instead we want to argue about it as if learning hygiene is against our culture!
