Mangaluru, Feb 4: Thousands of devotees marched from Maravoor Durgaparameshwari Temple to Kateel temple here on Sunday, February 4 as part of a walk titled 'Ammanedege Namma Nade'.
Raja Nirmalanath Swamiji, head of Kadali Yogeshwara Math flagged off the walk by lighting the lamp.
Vasudeva, priest of Kateel temple, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, mayor Kavita Sanil, and padayatra committee president Sandeep Shetty, President Padayatra committee led the walk.
Thousands of devotees braved the morning mist and the weather to be part of the walk. Several organizations too participated.
Bhajans were sung in praise of the deity throughout the walk. The padayatra which began at Maravoor passed via Kenjar, Bajpe, Yekkar and concluded at Kateel.
This was the 5th year that the walk was organized under the leadership of Sandeep Shetty Maravoor.
