Mangaluru: Police arrest notorious inter-state rowdy wanted in 13 cases

Mangaluru, Feb 1: The Mangaluru South anti-rowdy squad on Thursday February 1 arrested a rowdy at KC Road here.

Mohammed Rafiq alias Nappate Rafiq (29), resident of Uppala in Kasargod, is said to be a notorious inter-state rowdy.

He was arrested at KC Road on the basis of definite information received by the assistant police commissioner of Mangaluru south sub-division anti-rowdy squad.

Thirteen cases including three cases of murder and kidnap are registered against him. An arrest warrant is pending against him in Puttur town and Puttur rural police station. He was absconding without appearing in the court.

One of the cases against him is illegal entry into a flat at Kuthar Padavu, Someshwar, hurling abuses at the woman in the flat and threatening to kill her. The case is registered in Ullal police station.

Mangaluru South anti rowdy squad ACP, Ullal police and anti-rowdy squad staff took part in the operation.
