PM Modi to inaugurate first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi

Daijiworld Media Network

New Delhi, Jan 30: The first Hindu temple to be constructed in Abu Dhabi will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of his West Asia tour starting February 9.

At present, the only Hindu temple in UAE is located in Dubai. UAE is home to as many as 2.6 million Indians, who form around 30 percent of the total population of the country.

Around 20,000 square metres of land was allotted in Abu Dhabi’s Al Wathba during Modi’s first visit to the emirates in 2015. The construction of the temple is being funded by private donations.

Indian billionaire businessman B R Shetty, who is chairman of the temple coordination committee had told media “the UAE is a great example of religious tolerance with people of different nationalities living in harmony here.”

File Photo

Inside the temple, the idols will be of deities Krishna, Maheshwara, Ayyappa and more. The temples in Dubai are dedicated to Shiva and Krishna. "The temple will have a good vrindavan (garden) and a waterfront," Shetty had earlier told media.

Modi will arrive in Abu Dhabi on February 10 evening and will travel to Dubai the next day. He will address the Indian community reception at the Dubai Opera on February 11 and about 1,800 people are expected to participate. Modi will also be a star attraction at the sixth World Government Summit - a three-day annual event in Dubai that will see India as the guest country - on February 11.

Prime Minister Modi will be visiting two other countries in the West Asia - Palestine and Oman. He will be the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Palestine.

Its unfortunate that our Leaders with microphone in hand chant "Bharat Mata Ki " and the Audience accept the chant saying "Jai"....
But sad that they fail to live it. Often such a beautiful and positive chant is misused, when we, in reality, we hate each others and forget Bharat Mata and run behind Cow Mata. Leaders should change this attitude and only they can change by self example. How many are there??

There is a lesson to be learned by our PM and his subordinates. Being a Musim dominated country, UAE has welcomed people of other religion from various countries and they are enjoying their stay there without any discrimination. Though these people are there to work and earn and not citizens, Govt s not putting any pressure them and not stealing their independence or religious rights.

Instead UAE Govt is allowing to built a temple respecting the community. However, it is sad that it is quite opposite in India. Minorities who are citizen of india by birth are being tortured, being asked to leave india for no reason, their religious practices are being banned, their worship places are being attacked, their religious school are being shutdown, reglion freedom being withdrawn etc etc.

Why is this discrimination. Why not our Govt follow the footsteps of tiny nation UAE from where hundreds of thusands of indians are sending money to their relatives in india and enjoying a peaceful life. Why few Indians are jealous of minorities in india and want them to leave their home land.

Will our Govt stop such discrimination and attack on minorities and let them live peacefully. I hope our PM will return from UAE with a clean heart towards minorities and will control anti nationals elements in India. None is going to live for a long time and people will not remember any one who has ruined the people. Hitler is a good example for this.

Modi and his followers BJP, BD, Ramasene, etc should understand how peaceful to live here in UAE for all religions. Non Muslims can still can still consume alcohol or beef or pork - there is no restrictions on what you want to eat or drink. In India, being secular country we live in fear because of Modi's BJP so called Hindutva party in power. Do you agree ?

Things started to move from the time of congress regime slaughter houses started to crop-up here and there for the sake of vote bank.
As we cannot curtail anything all of sudden as there are pressure from all the end.
It will take some time to stop all these things within twenty years period when there is no opposition left to question them of the move.
As drug-addicting magnoon in islam..do they stopped the same inspite of declaring capital punishment.
If you believes everything happen in this world for a reason and it's handiwork of god..
As it's now kaliyug started such things will be seen in manifold and we ourselves protect from such things.

    1) Al-Khabeer Exports Pvt. Ltd.

Add: 92, Jolly makers, Chembur Mumbai 400021

    2) Arabian Exports Pvt.Ltd.

    Owner’s name: Mr. A.S BiSandra
    Add : S.C.O 62-63 Sector -34-A, Chandigarh 160022
If Indians stop eating beef such Hindu Beef exporters will get more quantity of beef at lesser price to export the same to Gulf and make huge profit. So, it is such beef Exporters who are behind all such lynching of Muslims to stop them from eating beef. Less beef consumption in India will make more quantity of beef available at cheaper rate for export. Thanks to Hindu newspaper for exposing such nexus between beef exporters and Sangh Parivar goons who are killing Muslims in the pretext of beef eat.

This is another gesture of love and respect that the Sheikhdom of Abu Dhabi has demonstrated not only for the people of U.A.E., but for people of the entire world. Late Shaikh Shuqbooth had donated a piece of land more than fifty years ago to the Catholics to build the church, and the church was built where people have freely practiced their faith and have also prayed for the peace and harmony of Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi is fully aware of the secular values thru which India is respecting all other faiths, including Islam, so highly. Millions of Indians who reside in the U.A.E. are dedicated towards U.A.E in all their dedications and loyalties, and the people of U.A.E. are totally conscious of their responsibility towards a Nation that gives back so much to the Gulf countries, including the purchase of a large quantity of hydrocarbons as well.

All these gestures are mutual, and these gestures will go a long way to cherish all that we owe to a host country.

Having a Temple in Abu Dhabi is a joyful message to relish a long way in the U.S.A. May this message of tranquility bring continued glory to both India as well as the U.A.E., and may peace and harmony prevail.

The UAE is home to over 200 nationalities. Emiratis constitute roughly 10% of the total population, making UAE home to one of the world's highest percentage of immigrants. Indians and Pakistanis form the largest expatriate groups in the country, constituting 25% and 12% of the total population respectively. Out of the 9.2 million, the expatriates contributed to around 7.8 million with the Emirati Nationals holding a population share of 1.4 million. Hindu temple a symbol of UAE’s culture of tolerance.
Whereas in India we are in bitter war of Mandir-Masjid issue since early days of independence. It is something PM Modi and his party should learn which is putting religious in conflict using Ram Mandir issue.

Welcome PM Mr. Modi. UAE sets a great example for religious tolerance for people across the world.
And now it further strengthens by having a temple in the capital city.
Sincerely hope you would adopt the same tolerance in India as well.
PS: religious tolerance is not measured by the number of mosques/churches minorities have in India. Religious tolerance is about citizen's right to expression of speech, freedom to eat whatever he wish, freedom to adopt religious practices that he believes in, freedom to roam anywhere in country without hiding his identity.

Great Words...Much appreciated. At the same time welcome gesture by the UAE. I would further appreciate if your suggestion was towards Muslim dominated democratic countries like pakistan too. No wonder if UAE allows all the religion practice in the country...but they have made sure all of them would be under their control(not given citizenship/any kind of rights). As well as any religious monuments are built with outsiders cost.

I do not see Hinduism & Hindutva as one. Hinduism is about tolerance & peace, but not your Hindutva.
I love my country (not necessary to prove my loyalty to a person like you), I love national anthem & i do not hate Vande Matharam. I follow all the rules what one citizen is obliged to.
Problem is with people like you who measures ones patriotism with 'whether he chants Vande mataram, whether he loves Anthem, Whether he is willing to join Army etc' How can your mentality stoop into so low Mr. Rajesh? Hindus and Muslims are an integral part of India.

When you ask me to love Anthem, and Vande Matharam, i remmebered the following quote.
''Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel" by Samuel Johnson
