Mangaluru, Jan 27: Senior Congress leader and former union minister Janardhan Poojary on Friday January 26 released his much anticipated autobiography, titled 'Sala Melada Sangarama'.

Prior to the release, Poojary place the book in front of the deity and performed 'Samprokshane' ritual, taking rounds of the Kudroli temple premises with the book on his head.

Releasing the book himself, Poojary said that while the actual price of the book is Rs 300 in the market, it would be sold at Rs 50 on the launch day so that those at the venue could buy a copy.

When district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai came to the dais, Poojary appreciated him, saying, "Ramanath Rai has initiated several development works. May God bless him to undertake more works."

He also said that there were several more points to be added to the autobiography, and a revised edition would be released at the Press Club soon.

Minister for food and civil supplies U T Khader announced that he would buy 500 copies of the book to distribute in school and college libraries in hi Ullal constituency.

Poojary's friend Sadnanda Shetty, Laxman Kodse who assisted in the publication of his book were felicitated. His sister's daughter Pooja and her husband Chandrahas were also felicitated.

Harikrishna Bantwal and his wife, page designer Chandappa, temple development committee Urmila Ramesh Kumar, former ZP president Mamatha Gatty, Preetika who served in the Kudroli temple, Leelaksha of Namma Kudla, and Karunakar Shetty were also felicitated.

Mayor Kavita Sanil, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, J R Lobo, Harikrishna Bantwal, Capt Ganesh Karnik were present.

As many as 1000 copies of the book were kept on sale. The next such sale will be during Shivaratri, Poojary said.

Janardhan Poojary releases autobiography and Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat is his chief guest.
Now one can understand why there are so many honest officers being transferred from Mangalore jurisdiction and there is no end to communal violence and private security in the of threat.

This is classic example of Congress and BJP nexus and electoral understanding in Mangalore. It is the regional Congress leaders who should be held accountable weakening of the party and its continues fall.
Probably this the reason Namo Naresh and Cow Swami got bail in murder and rape case.

Very nice to see many political leaders of diff. party and organization in this programme. Really appreciate Sri Poojary for his hard work and clean image maintained till today... Mangalore is looking for such a social environment where people greet each other with good smile and appreciation. If this is happened .... then ...... really I feel we are all one and born to live together....
Congratulations Mr Poojary for expressing his views, experience, pain and struggle he underwent in his life - thru this book.

A very good oppurtunity for Ramanatha RAi to arrest Kalladka Bhat! as per his pre-election speeches. Bhat is all alone and all are Congis. But then as always Rai has no dhum.

I salute this man for various reasons.

    He never divided society, communities
He never gave long speaches that spew venom
he is a simple soul and done his level best during his innings at politics,
I had met him several times and i admire his simplicity and his concern for people of past DK/Udupi

He was a name in politics to reckon with during his tenure and worked his best to to take all communities with him. This biography would shed some good insights to present day politicians and youngsters alike.

And for being a good, honest, simple soul our "budhivanthara jille " people saw that he lost elections 5times that too against opponents who spread hatred.It.s fashionable to be full of hate i suppose..a winning formula.Cong should do some soul searching too.

A person responsible for the development of present undecided dakshina Kannada comprising Udupi and Mangalore late Sri Ullal Srinivas Mallya didn't write his autobiography .....fir his efforts in 1960s as parliamentarian ,we are got town hall,NMPT,Engg college in Suratkal(presently NIET)Netravathi bridge,Mangalore Bangsalore highway,Akashavaani Mangalore,Airport etc., Whatever we see today in Mangalore is only due to the efforts of this great soul.Hiw many people remember him today?
Sala mela in banks during 1980s was a new outlook.....no doubt....
Whether we remember in the same spirit legends like Dr.TMA Pai,TA Pai,Mulki Sundar ram Shetty persons responsible for economic development across the country.

Why JP's autobiography has itched you so much. This is exclusively his decision. Come out from the rigid mindset and try to appreciate the goodness in others.

Jannanna knows nothing significant is going to happen in his life hereon...so finished his autobiography...sad that he named it as Salamelada sangrama...he could have named it as Sala Melada Parinaama...his nemesis was the infamous Sala Melas and the harassment of bank managers in the cause of Sala Melas...
