Beltangady: Man thrashes mother-in-law over land dispute; locals record video on phone

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (SP)

Beltangady, Jan 19: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly thrashed his mother-in-law indiscriminately and inhumanly, reportedly over land dispute. The incident happened at Jantigoli in the taluk.

As he put the lady on the floor, kicked and beat her up severely, some locals recorded the gruesome incident on their cellphones.

It is said that the alleged assailant, Hemanth, was angry about the fact that his mother-in-law, Rekha, had supported the locals in their opposition to the brick factory being run by Hemanth in a land that is allocated under rule 94c of revenue act. The factory has been creating problems for the locals, and Rekha had signed the petition filed by the villagers against running of the factory in the said land, it is gathered.

Hemanth kicked his mother-in-law and got a belt to lash her with. The video shows his wife trying to stop him and doing her best to snatch away the belt from him, but in vain.

The police complaint also mentions that he was drunk at the time.

Venur police have registered a case.

Disgusting, the man kicking and beating his own mother - in - law. More disgusting is that, the people surrounding have time to record on mobile the entire incident but it seems locals have not obstructed this rogue man, to stop kicking his own mother in law.

This shows how scrupellos are people when it is a matter of land ,money and gold.No humanity,no heart. No respect towards elders. In the name of alcohol ,can be assaulted ,kicked out even murder. The neighbours who were nearby ,instead of looking the show and recording ,should have get together and hit him with a stock ,or do something so that woman could have saved from this animal.even push him from back would have enough.yes we have smartphone but it doesnt help one when in danger.could have called police first instead of recording.Put him inside for life long.

Some people take great pride in shooting such scenes and posting it on social media. They seem to go on a high on such recordings as if he is turned into a overnight hero or as if he has won some million rupees through his hard work.
These things are common ..be it a rich family or a poor family ...wherever there is money ,land, marriage, children and numerous "wants". Kali Yuga!
    God bless.

OMG! Land issues are lot nowadays. Even i have land issues with my family. It is my ancestors property. My father was having some fight with his brothers and grandfather many years ago. The share of ours is is in hands of my fathers elder brother Chandrashekar N. K and younger brother Sundaran N. K and now they are not listening to handover it to me as iam the son of my father. And they are all from same father. They are demanding some money or gold. Also, even if i pay them the money or as in gold they say that they are not going to register the land in my name but as in thier name they will only permit me to build a house. And when a situation comes if i want to move with any transfers or relocate in my wish. The house will be for them and i should leave the land as it is in thier name. This is cruel and injustice. I need a kerala civil court lawyer who is very much dedicated to law and order help me out. This case should be presented in the court of kerala. This property is in kannur, kerala. The people who created such issues against innocent me and my mother should be put behind bars and charged with a lumpsum amount of fine for wasting our lifetime in dream to build the house.

your concerns are very true and it seems you are suffering a lot. we had to face the same fate when false cases were filed against us. the false cases have drained us so badly, we never ever visited a court, nor have we troubled anyone. Only once u enter a court you will know the working of indian courts and about lawyers who need to be called as liers. as they dance to your tune and your opponents tune as well. it may take another ten to twenty years for you to clear the case until you get your land. if you have no other option left try going directly to high court. or otherwise you can peacefully purchase the land from the amount you are about to pour on courts lawyers (liers) and miscellaneous drama that you happen to see in courts. Our courts and corrupt police have produced more criminals than eliminating them. By not giving the judgement on time they support the criminals morally. dont expect anything from indian courts if CBI judge loya itself was eliminated like nothing what about me and you? we only have to wait ten twenty thirty fourty on so on years.

    Manohar
It is not your Sena to take action as per ur requirement.
Ppl like you negatively comment about Sena depending upon
the situation suitable to you or not
Instead of asking them to action why you take the lead in taking
    suitable action as per you

Touching example of social media era.... Guy whoever did the recording did a great job on one side... on the other side he would have stopped that thug from attacking the lady... God forbid nothing happened to the elderly lady.. What if he had killed her? Our social media recorder who enjoy the moment of thrashing the lady for his achievements of sharing somewhere forgot the humanity seems...

Sad that sometime we forget the humanity in the journey of recording business... On other hand where are those goons who spend their time in cow catching and catching girls ...? why cant you stop alcohol ?
Alcohol is one of the reason our girls are running behind guys of other community.....
