As per my knowledge every year during monsoon residents surroundings of Paddushedde & Moodshedde which are attached to the river bank Phalguni are victims of flash floods for many years now. The farmers & residents suffer a lot due to floods which is also evident through the news if you refer earlier years. No official visited the site during the dire consequences faced by the locals. Extraction of sand from the river In fact deepen the river due to which water level is maintained during monsoon & doesn’t affect the normal life of the neighboring residents which is again evident from past two years. Legalization of sand mining should be thought & allowed with controlled aspect.

I do not understand why DC conducts the trucks carrying sands. Unfortunately in our State, regional and national level, many issues taking place illegally which is basic necessity of life. Government officials are not offering the citizens the alternative solution.
Is all the so called illegal activity like sand, alchol are the tools for the politicians and for the government officials to earn money?

Excellent job done. Despite the multiplicity of programmes Mr. Senthil - the present D.C. of Mangalore has found time to conduct surprise raids at several places including Moodushedde, Padushedde, Manjalpade and Jappinamogaru. It is interesting to note that over 800 truckloads of sand, dredging machine, and a truck were impounded.

I join scores of people in congratulating Mr. Senthil on the unique feat accomplished
