During my visit to the Shrine in October, I have noticed that the approach road from the main road is in a very pathetic condition. I hope the Church Management will take initiative to contact the concerned Government department in Karkal to fill the potholes & to concrete the road, & make it for a smooth motorable condition. Motorist r really struggling to drive on this stretch.

St. Lawrence please pray for Us.

    Hello VNR,

    Very good question.

Christians believe in One God and after our death we will be united with Him. We are called to be Holy, because nothing un-Holy can be near God.
Saint comes from a word sanctus in Latin, which means Holy. So saints are people who lived holy life who we believe are in union with God. Since they lived a great life and are close to God they can easily intercede for us, Hence we ask Saints to pray for us.

St. Lawrence was martyred for his faith and was fried on a grill. So He became Holy by his martyrdom for faith among many other things. So we now know that St. Lawrence is close to God in Union with God,, Hence we ask St. Lawrence to Pray for us= St. Lawrence pray for us.
