Mangaluru, Jan 7: The keenly awaited musical fountain along with laser show and the newly restored toy train at Kadri Park were inaugurated by chief minister Siddaramaiah here on Sunday January 7.

The formal inauguration was followed by a stunning laser show depicting Yakshagana and the culture of the coastal land in general.

The musical fountain is spread on an area of 4.01 acre and has been constructed at a cost of Rs 4.97 crore sanctioned by the state finance commissioner. The laser show has been set up at a cost of Rs 2 crore.

There will be a daily show at 7.30 pm for visitors. The ticket price is yet to be fixed.

Siddaramaiah also inaugurated the toy train worth 1.35 crore at Kadri Park. The toy train is resuming service after a gap of five years.

The chief minister, who had a long day visiting different taluks of Dakshina Kannada, did not address the gathering, instead he watched the impressive laser show and the musical fountain and proceeded to his overnight stay in the city.

District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, food and civil supplies minister U T Khader, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D'Souza and others were present.
