Mangaluru: Deepak's family rejects Rs 5 lac personal aid offered by MLA Bava

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jan 6: The family of Deepak Rao, who was murdered in Katipalla recently, has refused to accept Rs 5 lac compensation from Mangaluru North MLA Mohiuddin Bava from his personal fund.

MLA Bava along with MLC Ivan D'Souza visited the residence of Deepak's family at Katipalla on Friday January 5 in order to offer his condolences. In addition, the family members took the MLA to task about the secret operation in which Deepak's body was brought to the residence from the hospital.

Bava offered his condolences to Deepak's mother and his family members. However, the members of family expressed their outrage at the MLA for not attending Deepak's funeral. The MLA told the family members that he did not attend the funeral on the suggestion of the police in order to maintain law and order on the day of the funeral. He also told them that he had visited the hospital on the night of the murder itself to express his sympathy.

He also assured the family that he will do his best to get all the benefits from the government.

Opposition spreading hatred: Bava

"I have successfully prevented communal violence in my constituency in the last four years and eight months. As the assembly elections are nearing, the opposition is spreading communal hatred and trying to grab power as they are not able to find any other reason. I do not believe in politics of violence or caste politics. I am ready to swear on the Quran or the Bible or at any temple on this subject.

"I do not have any relation or business with the accused persons in this case. I have information that the accused have worked for BJP during the last elections. There is a suspicion that there is more than the issue of bunting behind this murder. Request will be put forth with the chief minister to conduct relevant inquiry in this case," accused Bava.

Chief whip of the Legilative Council Ivan D'Souza who spoke on the occasion said, "Opposition has to restrain from giving speeches instigating communal feelings in order to grab power. They should also give up cheap politics in order to gain from the same politically. State government is trying relentlessly to maintain peace in the district as well as the state and BJP has to join in this effort keeping aside politics."

Pratibha Kulai, Basheer Ahmed, Keshava Sanil, Deepak Poojari, Surendra Kambli and Y Raghavendra Rao were present.

    RIP DEEPAK RAO.

Actually we do not know the reason behind not accepting the compensation from MLA.
But my opinion is, this should be the reason that MLA is muslim or he is representing from Congress.
Hang the culprits and give justice to Deepak's family.

DEEPAK FAMILY NEVER TAKEN ADVICE FROM BJP TO ACCEPT OR REJECT THE OFFER.
IT CAME INSTANTLY FROM THE HEART OF A MOTHER WHO LOST HER SON FOR NO REASON.
NOW ANY MATURED PERSON BEFORE OFFERING COMPENSATION HAS TO ENSURE THAT THE CULPRITS ARE PUNISHED IN FRONT OF THE MOTHER WHY BECAUSE FUTURE ATLEAST SHE GET CONVINCED NO MORE MOTHERS SHOULD SUFFER IN THIS WAY. COMPENSATION CAN BE GIVEN ANYTIME AFTER THAT. THE WAY CULPRITS DROVE THE CAR TO ESCAPE FROM POLICE AND ATTACKED THE POLICE ON DUTY SHOWS THEY WERE NOT PETTY CRIMINALS. THEY ARE THE CANCER TO THE SOCIETY AND TO BE REMOVED AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.

Killer of Deepak and Basheer should not be hanged... instead break their legs and hands... spinal cord and knee... then hit hard on the palm of both the legs so that their nerves which connected to brain and other body muscles must damage... then keep them in a jail without giving them a proper treatment ... release and keep them in Statebank for public visibility

By seeing them one must not dare to take any lives . . .

Like so many around us, I feel extremely sad that a young life has been taken away due to a senseless and murderous act. My heart goes out to the bereaved family. However, I refuse to accept the statement that the motive behind this act had something to do with as frivolous as the buntings. Are we so foolish to stomach this absolutely stupid reason? There is certainly some big hand behind this dastardly act and I genuinely feel it has to do with the forthcoming elections. By hook or by crook, the opposition wants to dislodge the ruling party and come to power. The power hungry, unscrupulous politicians can go to any extent to achieve their goals and poor Deepak is the first victim in this dirty game of politics. They have used this poor young man to achieve their goals. How else can you explain the refusal of the family to accept the 5 lakhs offered by the MLA? For a family which is in debt, by no stretch of imagination is 5 lakhs a small amount. They would have grabbed this money with both hands had it not been for the direction of those who asked them to reject the money. If this is not a political game, then what is it? Moideen Bava has done a commendable job as the MLA of this area. He stands head and shoulders above his predecessor in this respect. Unlike the previous MLA, he is accessible even to common persons like us and always does his best to alleviate the hardship faced by the people. Moideen Bava has brought a refreshing change to this region and has earned high praise from people belonging to all communities. I can see a sinister plan to dislodge this man from his seat and the murder of Deepak could just be the beginning. We the people of Dakshina Kannada should see through this plan and irrespective of which party we support, we should never allow the communal forces to divide us.

Very disturbing news... Although no money can fill the vacuum created by the death of young Deepak, I am sure the funds would have atleast to some extent taken away the financial pressure from his mother for the time being.. Its very clear that the rejection to accept funds from the MLA is due to pressure from certain elements of the society... I saw a post on facebook this morning publishing the funds donated by people to Deepak's mother and sadly they were expressing gratitude only to HINDU brothers... Come on guys, after seeing the request for donation on Daijiworld, I instantly made a contribution to the same cause.. I was not bothered about to which religion he belonged to, but the plight of that pained mother truly hurt me and I did my bit to help her.... Ans this is the case when several pleas published on daijiworld for help in emergencies... People from all parts of world, of all walks in life contribute without looking at the religion/caste of the people in need... Shame on you politicians/extremists for poisoning the minds of innocent youth/people and causing hatred and blood bath in the peaceful society, just for your personal/political/religious gains!! You people are a DISGRACE to civilized society!!!

Frankly, considering that the killers were members of the BJP minority morcha and even campaigned for Palemar, they should have not allowed BJP/Sangh leaders to even come close to their house and shed crocodile tears. Instead, they target Bava - who for whatever his faults, has nothing to do with this. Whatever the accused religion, It's the BJP/Sangh that has to answer questions about links to the accused

It's good to see some determined Police officers who put their life at risk & caught the murderers of Deepak.

Now the powerful unseen hands will try to rescue those killers by bribing their way out at different levels of adiminstration!

The case should be given to CBI and find the root cause of the killing to avoid such incidents happen in future! Those who financed those killers should be sent behind bars!

It's a good gesture to give money to people who lost their life by accident or illness but this is a predetermined murder of a innocent young son!!!

Minister should help in punishing murderers to give justice to Deepak!

The problem starts here. The mother or brother of deepak never imagine of doing politics keeping dead body aside but sanghi shaitaans have done it. Moidin bava never encouraged hatred in society nor he excessively supported the other community. If he visited and offers a helping hand definitely it should be accepted by deepak family. Karnataksa tv channels are in so hurry to spread such nonsense by cut and paste news to define the state govt as appeasing the other comunity. The sachaar commety report clearely says that who actually appeased well. W hen deepaks dead body was in hospital the MP nalin kumar kateel visited AJ hospital there but he never thought of visting stabbed patient basheer lying in same hospital . ANYBODY CAN DECIDE WHO IS ACTUALLY APPEASING HERE. Its deaapk or basheer all are our best social wealth . We should not loose them but if public not teaches a best lesson to sanghi shaitaans then there wont be any end to this social decease. A TIME WILL COME WHERE THE KILLER NEVER KNOWS WHY HE KILLED SOMEBODY AND MURDERD NEVER KNOWS WHY WAS HE MURDERED as prophet told in a hadees
