Beltangady: Head constable drinks inside police station, photo goes viral

Beltangady, Dec 29: While police department has been asking people to control drinking on the eve of New Year through communiqué, there is news that a liquor party was held inside a police station recently.

Beltangady police station is the place where the party was held.

The photo of drinking policeman has gone viral and the police department has attracted heavy criticism in the social media.

Head constable at the Beltangady police station named Honnappa Gowda was seen drinking at his workplace a few days ago. Someone captured the photos in a mobile phone and sent them through WhatsApp. A liquor bottle, water and plastic cups are seen on the duty table. Honnappa is seen sitting relaxed without shoes. 

It is said that liquor parties are common during night duties in many police stations including the one here.

Another police constable also reportedly drank with Honnappa Gowda on the same night. But he is not seen in the photo.

No action has been taken against the policeman yet.
