Mangaluru: DK gets vented dams costing Rs 100 crore

Mangaluru, Nov 23: Officials of minor irrigation department said that vented dams will be built in Dakshina Kannada district at a cost of Rs 100 crore under 'Paschima Vahini' scheme of the government. These dams will be built at the following places:

1. Brahmasthana Katta in Niddodi village across River Nandini.

2. Torpu in Maroor village across River Phalguni.

3. Sannikai, Kolavoor, across River Phalguni.

4. Polali in Kariyangala village across River Phalguni.

5. Dota in Karpe village.

6. Puchchemugeru in Sangabettu village.

7. Kukkejottu in Nittade village across River Phalguni.

8. Uddara in Kadirudyavara village across River Netravati.

9. Kodimara in Bellipady village across River Kumaradhara.

10. Ujiradka in Charvaka village across River Kumaradhara.

At the same time, 26 vented dams costing Rs 77 crore have been sanctioned for Udupi district and 30 more for Uttara Kannada district at a cost of Rs 23 cror they revealed at the general session of zilla panchayat.
