Bhatkal: Shaheen Sports Center holds mega blood donation camp

Bhatkal, Nov 16: The Shaheen Sports Center along with Blood Helpline Karnataka (R) in association with Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation and Redcross society Mangaluru, held a mega blood donation camp in Fathima Ali hall at Magdoom Colony here in the town on November 14 where a total number of 172 people donated blood.

The inaugural ceremony of the camp began with supplications (Dua) from Maulana Niyamathullah Askeri, Imam and Khateeb of Magdoomiya Jamia Masjid, Bhatkal, which was followed by the donation of blood by Maulana. Speaking after the inauguration, Maulana said, "By donating blood, number of patients get recovered, as the blood is a basic requirement for being healthy. Sometimes, people get stuck in tension in search of blood." He congratulated the organizers and representatives of Shaheen Sports Center for taking up the initiative and asked Almighty Allah to make the camp a grand success.

The camp began from 8 am and lasted until 3 pm in which 172 people donated blood. A team of 13 doctors from Mangaluru under the guidance of Dr Edward participated in the camp.

The concluding session began with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Hafiz Muhammad Muzammil Hallare, while center's secretary Mubasshir Hallare delivered the welcome speech. The programme was presided over by center's president Muhammad Sadiq Matta, while Imshad Muktesar rendered the vote of thanks.

On this occasion, president of Magdoom Colony Jamatul Muslimeen Iqbal Sayeedi, general secretary Maulana Shujauddin Nadvi, Muhammad Usman Hallare, Sami Ullah, BMYF president Imtiyaz Udyawar, secretary Abdul Wajid Kola, general secretary of Majlis-e-Islah Wa Tanzeem Mohiddin Altaf Kharuri, Asrar Jamsher, Mukhtar Muktesar, Nisar Khan, Hasan Shabbir, social worker Nazeer Khasimji, Nisar Ruknaddin, Ashraf Sada, Fayyaz Byndoor, Naachi RB, Nazeer PC Addoor, Sathar Krishnapura amongst many others were present.
