Udupi: Pejawar Swamiji undergoes successful surgery

Udupi, Oct 26: Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math underwent a surgery at Kasturba Hospital in Manipal on Wednesday, October 25.

Doctors said they performed the surgery to remove a hernia tumour from Pejawar Swamiji’s abdomen.

Swamiji was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday evening after his daily religious rituals. He had complained of stomach ache before that.

The doctors decided to perform the surgery after a thorough examination. When asked, Swamiji agreed to go under the knife.

Swamiji had undergone a hernia operation on August 20. After that he had complained about stomach ache many times.

Swamiji will have to remain at the hospital for the next two days.

Junior seer Vishwaprasanna Swami will conduct the daily rituals at the Math, it is gathered.
