Kasargod, Oct 12: In an incident which has been reported from Vidyagiri near Badiadka in the district, a boy killed himself by jumping down a mobile tower on the night of Wednesday October 11.

The victim was Manoj (17), son of Seetharam from Bapumoole, Vidyagiri.

Manoj's mother, Leelavathi, is a victim of endosulfan overdose and bedridden since the last many years. Manoj was depressed over the health condition of his mother, and may have decided to kill himself when in a depressed mood on account of this tension, it is suspected.

Manoj had dinner at home on Wednesday night before he went out. The family was expecting him to return soon, but he did not come back for long. They went searching for him, and found him lying in a pool of blood at the base of a mobile tower located a short distance away from their home. He was immediately taken to Badiadka hospital and then to a hospital in the town with the hope of saving his life, but their efforts went in vain.

Manoj, who had completed SSLC education, could not continue education as he failed to secure admission into plus one. Father of the victim, Seetharam, is a coolie and is required to spend his earnings on family maintenance and treatment of his ailing wife.

It is said that Manoj often shared with his friends his agony over the condition of his mother. Badiadka police have registered a case.

Our government has forgot the major problems in our country. Their aim is only to bring smart cities, bullet trains and wat not to make money and more money. Do we really need it?
People in our country are struggling for basic needs, please solve that issue first.
Make smart decision than making smart cities which will just raise cost of living for the poor in our country.

    RIP little young man.

Time for Indian tax payers to fight for their right in the form social security schemes like education, healthcare, basic facilities etc. So many private medical colleges use government hospitals to train their students. Did they pay anything to these government hospitals ? Private medical colleges collect lot of money as donations, management quota seats etc.

Even for Income tax payers what benefit government is giving if they are jobless or can't work due to health issues ? Tax payer money is wasted in pleasing voters with statues & unnecessary gimmics. Every year only budgets. No accountability as to where actual money is going ?

What the so called government auditor CAG doing ? Only post mortem ? What is its contribution in preventing unnecessary expenditure & waste of money by government ?
