Mangaluru: Full-fledged Surgical Gastroenterology dept commences at A J Hospital

Mangaluru, Sep 26: A J Hospital and Research Centre have commenced the full-fledged services of its new super speciality wing - Surgical Gastroenterology. The expert team comprises of two specialists (Dr Ashwin Alva and Dr Rohan Shetty) exclusively trained in advanced institutes dealing with all aspects of gastrointestinal surgery including liver transplantation.

In the last couple of months, complicated and technically challenging surgeries like hepatic resections (major hepatectomies and segmental resections), pancreatic resections (whipple procedure for pancreatic cancer) as well as laparoscopic colorectal surgeries have been performed by the team with excellent outcomes.

The department is working in tandem with other co-specialties like medical gastroenterology and interventional radiology to provide quality care at an affordable cost, which is A J Hospital’s motto.
