Fujairah, Sep 19: The Konkani speaking community of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church celebrated the feast of Nativity of Blessed Mother on September 15 under the banner of Canara Catholics Fujairah.

The celebration began with the blessing of new corn by Fr Robert Lasrado in front of the grotto. The faithful went in a procession and took part in solemn Eucharistic celebration.

Soon after, children showered the flowers in front of the statue of infant Mary while the choir sang the Marian hymns. Thereafter, everyone gathered in the church hall for the traditional ‘Noven Jevan’. Fr Sagayaraj, other priests, and leaders from other communities were present.
