M'luru: Kanara Entrepreneurs holds strategic meet at Mangalore Internet City

Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 18: Kanara Entrepreneurs, one of the premium entrepreneurs groups of Bangalore, on Saturday, September 16 held its Strategy and Brainstorming session at Mangalore Internet City,  a premium luxury project here, developed by a group of KE members.

Mangalore Internet City was held to chart out KE’s vision and development till 2020.

KE is an unique not for profit organisation which looks to nurture entrepreneurs, professionals and students who are Christians from the Kanara region. It has a high level of professionalism which is reflected in the way it is structured. It is run by a board of directors, which is elected by the lead members who in turn are supposed to mentor, lead and help other KE members. At present, KE has 180 normal members and 36 lead members.

The strategic and brainstorming meet was held over two days for lead members. Over 75% attended it including chairman of KEL, Ivan Fernandes. It is a testament to the extent to which  KE’s gets enthusiastic commitment to the organisation in which all these lead members flew in from Bengaluru or Dubai for the event. In another testament to the importance of how critical it is for an organisation to get its perspective right, the entire two-day programme was hosted in a five star manner by Mangalore Internet City, Mangaluru.

The session which had the theme of ‘winning together’, looked at ten objectives for the future, of which two important ones were the importance of engaging and women entrepreneurs and how to bring in more members from the community into the organisation.

KE president Adrian D’Souza said, “I wanted a brainstorming session which would provide the organisation with tangible deliverables. I have seen in many cases, across the world, sessions stick to subjective points of view and deliverables do not happen. Here, in this session we were able to use the wealth of experience of members to translate the objectives with realistic deliverables."

The results of the brainstorming sessions would now be implemented by the board of directors of KE, who consist of Ivy Saldanha, Nigel Fernandes, Naveen Rodrigues, Ajay Fernandes, Joseph Rasquinha, Roshan D’Silva, Reshma Saldanha, and Anil Peter Rego.

In another grand gesture, one of KE’s lead members, Austin Roach, who is also a prominent entrepreneur in Bangalore owning 5-star hotels and resorts, offered to sponsor an entire KE administrative infrastructure to further enhance the progress of KE and positively impact the organisations ability to ensure that the deliverables identified in this lead members meet are met.

The meeting was also addressed by Fr Denzil Lobo from St Aloysius College Mangaluru.
